2018 Discernment

Jean Vanier, the founder of L’Arche, has written, “Community discernment is essentially a way of enabling people in a group to come to a common decision where each one has internalized the decision and made it their own.” (Community and Growth, p. 292.)

Ten members of the Leadership Team gathered on March 4th to review the accomplishments for 2017 and discern the goals for 2018.

During the meditative, goal-setting time, we pondered on which of two paths we should focus: to build a L’Arche home near a farm or look for an existing house to become our first L’Arche home.

The Team also brainstormed specific tasks for each goal and people signed up for each task. Please consider how you would like to assist or who you know that might be able to help out.
